Jamirah Shutes earns Weekly Honor Roll nod

Sophomore guard scored a career-high 32 points at ECU Tuesday
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – University of Memphis sophomore guard Jamirah Shutes has been named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll after her career performance Tuesday evening at ECU. This is the third time this season Shutes has been recognized by the league. Shutes was also named the College Sports Madness Conference Player of the Week.

Against ECU, Shutes put up a career-high 32 points behind a 9-for-13 effort from the floor. She was also perfect from beyond the arc, making all five shots she attempted.

She also added nine points at the line, finishing the game with a 9-for-10 effort. Shutes also contributed four rebounds, two assists, a block and a steal to her stat line for the evening.

Shutes' 32-point performance was the first 30-point game for Memphis since Brianna Wright scored 35 vs. Temple on Feb. 18, 2016. Her previous career-high was 27 points scored in Memphis' win against Kansas State in the Junkanoo Jam.

The Tigers return to action Tuesday evening for a 7 p.m. contest against Tulane.
