Men's Tennis drops opening day match against Indiana

Tigers fall in tough-fought 4-3 decision
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Memphis men's tennis dropped a closely-fought opening match Friday afternoon at Indiana. After taking the doubles point against the Hoosiers, the Tigers would win courts 2 and 4, but were unable to clinch on the final court.
Memphis won the first point of the day, opening the afternoon with a win in the doubles portion of the contest. The team of James Story and Jan Pallares won on court 2, while Marshall Sullivan and Jeremy Taylor captured court 3.
Five of the six singles matches were won in straight sets, before a back-and-forth court 1 made the final decision in three sets. David Stevenson claimed the first singles win for the Tigers, before Taylor's win on court 5 set up the finish in the final match, where Story was unable to cap the win for the Tigers.
The Tigers stay on the road for their next match, heading to Chicago, Ill., to face Northwestern on Sunday. Match time against the Wildcats is set for 12 p.m.
