Taylor Named to Weekly Honor Roll
MEMPHIS, Tennessee – Senior defensive end Bryce Huff (Mobile, Ala./St. Paul's Episcopal) was named the American Athletic Conference's Defensive Player of the Week it was announced Monday. It is the first weekly honor of his career for Huff, who was second team all-conference last year.
With Memphis up 13-10 against Ole Miss, Huff took advantage of a special team's play that found the Rebels backed up on their own one-yard line. Huff recorded his first sack of the season in the endzone, pushing the Memphis lead to 15-10 and getting the Tigers the ball back with a little over six minutes to play in the fourth quarter.
The offense ate the rest of the game clock, giving Memphis its second straight home win over Ole Miss.
Huff finished with a team-high five tackles, including two tackles for loss and the sack, in the win. He is the first Tiger to earn a defensive player of the week award since Genard Avery won the honor on Oct. 30, 2017.
Teammate Patrick Taylor (Humble, Texas/Atascocita) also earned a spot on the league's weekly honor roll after his 27-rush, 128-yard performance against Ole Miss. Taylor, who scored a rushing touchdown, finished with 153 all-purpose yards in the win over Ole Miss. He also added four catches for 25 yards. At the end of week one, Taylor ranks second in the American with 128.0 rushing yards per game and fourth with 153.0 all-purpose yards per game.

Tickets for that game can be purchased at any Memphis-area Kroger store for just $10 as part of the "Zero Hunger Zero Waste" campaign.
