DeMoss To Race In USA Championships

Tigers All-American to run in the men's 100 meters Thursday.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis All-American sprinter Davon DeMoss continues the Tigers' summer on the international stage this weekend when he races in the men's 100 meters at the 2019 USA Track and Field Championships.

The four-day meet runs from Thursday through Sunday, July 25-28. Drake Stadium on the campus of Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, is hosting the event.

DeMoss is the seventh Tiger to compete in an international competition this summer, and the following lists those:

DeMoss is competing in the third of four heats of the men's 100 meters, which begins Thursday afternoon at 5:05 p.m. (CT). The top three in each heat plus the next four fastest times advance to Friday's two semifinals (6:02 p.m. CT). The top four from each semifinal move on to the final, which is set for later Friday at 7:53 p.m. (CT).

DeMoss had an incredible 2018-19 campaign on the track. The Jackson, Tenn., native became the first sprinter in program history to earn All-America honors in the indoor and outdoor championships in the same year. DeMoss took home All-America second team honors from the NCAA Indoor Championships in March, placing 13thin the men's 60 meters. At the NCAA Outdoor Championships in early June, DeMoss earned two All-America second team honors in the men's 100 meters and the men's 4x100-meter relay.

In 2018-19, DeMoss set four school record in the indoor men's 60 meters (6.61), indoor men's 200 meters (21.10), men's outdoor 100 meters (10.05) and men's 4x100-meter relay (39.19).
