MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis women's tennis head coach Hayden Perez announced the addition of international standout Aran Teixido to the Tiger roster.
Teixido, a native of Catalonia, Spain, signed to join the Tiger program for the 2019-2020 season.
"Associate Head Coach Ryan Haymond and I are extremely excited to announce the signing of Aran Teixido for this upcoming year," Perez said. "Aran joins us having a lot of experience from not only tournaments around Spain, but the ITF Pro Circuit. Her doubles skills will help immediately and we look forward to helping her develop as a player and achieve all the goals she has for herself and our program."
Teixido, who reached her highest ITF junior ranking at No. 496 in December, holds four juniors doubles titles and is a four-time Catalonia champion.
Most recently, Teixido claimed the J5 Tarragona doubles crown in April in Tarragona, Spain. Other doubles titles she claimed in 2018 include wins at the Internacionales de Majadahonda in Spain, the Tournoi International de Clermont-Ferrand in France and the ITF 4 Ockel Tournament in the Netherlands.
Her four national championships were earned competing at the U12, U13, U14 and U18 levels, while reaching her highest country ranking at No. 60.
