The American Announces Home and Away Opponents for Women's Basketball

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference announced Tuesday afternoon the 2019-20 women's basketball home and away opponents for the league's 12 teams. Much like the previous two seasons, the conference schedule will consist of 16 league games where each team will play five of its 11 opponents twice and six opponents one time – three at home and three away.

This is the fourth season The American has had a 16-game conference schedule after the league's head coaches voted for the change at the 2015 American Athletic Conference spring meetings. The move allows more flexibility in the non-conference portion of the schedule.

Memphis will welcome Cincinnati, USF and Tulsa in home-only contests while taking on Houston, Temple and Wichita State on the road only. UCF, UConn, ECU, SMU and Tulane are on tap for a home and away series with the Tigers.

The Tigers will host four of the top five teams from a year ago at home in UCF, Cincinnati, UConn and USF. All four of those teams earned a berth into postseason play.

Memphis returns its top two scorers in Jamirah Shutes and Alana Davis from last season. The Tigers also welcome the 31^st-best recruiting class in the nation per the Blue Star Report.
