Fletcher in Second at End of Day Two at NCAA Norman Regional

NORMAN, Oklahoma – Senior University of Memphis women's golfer Michaela Fletcher remains in second place at the end of day two of the NCAA Norman Regional at the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club. Fletcher fired a 70 (-2) Tuesday to remain in the hunt at 138, just three strokes off Olivia Mehaffey's (Arizona State) lead. Mehaffey fired the low round of the day (66, -6) to take the individual lead and push her team in to the top six.

After carding three birdies on the front side, Monday, Fletcher bogeyed one and birdied eight to hit the turn at even par in the second round. But things picked up on the back side, as she birdied 10, 12 and 15, offsetting a bogey at 13, to finish the day at -2. She is one stroke ahead of Texas' Agathe Laisne and Purdue's Micaela Farah and three strokes behind Mehaffey's lead.

Texas took the team lead with a second round 281. The Longhorns (568) lead Florida (569) by one stroke and Purdue (574) by five strokes. Wake Forest (575) and Arizona State (579) both moved into the top five on Tuesday, seeking one of six transfer spots from the Norman Regional to the NCAA Championship finals.

The final round of the NCAA Norman Regional for Fletcher will again tee off at 8:20 a.m. off the first hole. Hole-by-hole scoring will be available at www.GolfStat.com.
