Fletcher Finishes Collegiate Career at NCAA Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Senior women's golfer Michaela Fletcher capped her University of Memphis golf career with a final round 81 (+8) in the final round of stroke play at the NCAA Championships at The Blessings Golf Course, Monday. Her final round 81 helped her finish at 237 (81-75-81) and in a tie for 86thoverall.
A three-time all-conference honoree, Fletcher leaves Memphis with three NCAA Regional trips, two NCAA championship appearances and school records for single season scoring average.
Arkansas' Maria Fassi, playing on her home course shot a 68 Monday to take individual medalist honors at 211 (72-71-68). She finished four strokes ahead of Florida's Sierra Brooks.
The top eight teams in the event (Texas, Duke, USC, Arkansas, Wake Forest, Arizona, Stanford and Auburn) will advance to Tuesday's match-play quarterfinals..
Fletcher will now begin preparation for her professional golf career. She received her undergraduate degree earlier this month and will play some events in her native South Africa before going through q-school in August.
