Tiger seniors are part of AAC squad competing with 16 final-day participants

MINNEAPOLIS – University of Memphis seniors Jeremiah Martin and Kyvon Davenport will lead the American Athletic Conference 3-on-3 team into the last day of competition and a chance for the $100,000 first prize.

The final 16 teams in the 2019 Dos Equis 3X3U National Championship will play Sunday at the Mall of America to determine the best 3-on-3 group among the 32 who began the tournament Friday. The winning four-man team will share the six-figure first-place prize money.

Martin and Davenport led their team to a 3-0 finish in pool play that was held Friday and Saturday. The American Athletic Conference team – which includes Tulane's Jordan Cornish and ECU's Isaac Fleming – opens play in the Round of 16 against the Big South at 10:10 a.m.

The semifinal rounds, the third-place game and the championship will be shown on ESPN2 starting at 2 p.m.

Additionally, the winners will earn the right to compete in the 2019 USA Basketball 3x3 Open National Championship later this spring.
