Eleven Tigers with 12 personal-bests on second day of War Eagle Invite.
AUBURN, Ala. – The University of Memphis men's 4x100-meter relay set the school record in the event to highlight the Tigers' second-day action at Auburn's War Eagle Invitational Saturday.
It was the third school record set at the weekend meet. On Friday, DeeNia McMiller (women's hammer) and Paige Sandwell (women's 3000-meter steeplechase) set school records in their respective events.
Â
The Tigers got off to a fast start Saturday in setting the school record in the meet's second running event of the afternoon. The quartet of Davon DeMoss, Imri Persiado, Kolbeinn Gunnarsson and Andrew Bishop posted a time of 39.51 seconds for the record. The previous record of 39.59 seconds was set in 2018. DeMoss, Persiado and Gunnarsson also were members of that 2018 relay.
Â
The men's 4x100-meter relay was the fourth school record set in the 2019 outdoor campaign. McMiller (women's hammer) and Sandwell (women's 3000-meter steeplechase) set their school records Friday, and Ashley Pryke (women's javelin) posted her school mark at Mississippi State's Al Schmidt Bulldog Relays in March.
