Tigers fall in regular-season finale

ORLANDO, Fla. – In its regular-season finale, Memphis men's tennis dropped a 4-0 decision at No. 32 UCF Monday evening.
UCF took control in doubles with wins on courts 1 and 3. Memphis duo Jan Pallares and Patrick Sydow were nearing a 6-6 tiebreak on court 2 before their match was left unfinished.
The Knights used the early momentum with three consecutive wins in singles play. Victories on courts 3, 5 and 6 sealed the win for UCF.
Courts 2 and 4 were suspended in the second set after the clinch. Chris Patzanovsky had forced a third set at the top spot before his match was left unfinished.
The Tigers will turn their attention to The American Championships, which begin Thursday in Orlando, Fla., at the USTA National Campus. Seeding for the tournament will be announced later Monday night.
