Women’s Golf Snowed Out at River Landing Classic

Lady Tigers finish tied for second at shortened event.
WALLACE, N.C. – The final day of the River Landing Classic was snowed out Tuesday and will not be made up. With the second round not completed on Monday due to darkness, the scores will revert back to the first round, meaning Memphis will finish tied for second at the event with an opening round 296. The Lady Tigers finish tied with Rutgers, East Tennessee State and No. 32 ranked Campbell. Middle Tennessee earns the team title after an opening round 290.
All three Lady Tiger seniors posted a top 20 finish in the one-round event. Sydney Colwill earned her sixth career top five finish as her opening round 72 (E) tied her for fourth overall. Michaela Fletcher posts her 28thcareer top 20 finish as her first round 74 (+2) puts her in a tie for 17thoverall. Teammate Madison Thomas also finished tied for 17th, giving her a second top 20 finish of the year and her 12thcareer top 20.
Freshman Victoria Gallegos carded an opening round 76, earning a tie for 34thin her first team event of the spring. Fellow freshman Ana Dawson scored an 84, finishing tied for 81stoverall.
Junior Abby Herrmann had carded an opening round 79, but had withdrawn before the second round began on Monday.
East Tennessee State's Hee Ying Loy captures individual medalist honors after her opening round 68 (-4). Middle Tennessee's Jenna Burris and Rutgers' Ashleigh Greenham finished tied for second at 71 (-1).
Memphis will next be back in action at the 3M Augusta Invitational in Georgia on March 16-17.
