Tigers' senior guard named to league's Weekly Honor Roll
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – University of Memphis senior guard Jeremiah Martin earned his second straight American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll award Monday for his play in the team's games against No. 25 Cincinnati and UConn.

Martin, a preseason first-team all-conference pick, averaged 19 points and 5.5 assists in the two games. He also shot 48 percent, including 50 percent from 3-point range. He made a career-high eight 3-pointers in Thursday's 69-64 loss at FedExForum and finished with 26 points.

In Sunday's 78-71 victory over UConn, Martin enjoyed the role of playmaker, dishing out a team-high six assists, including a highlight-reel pass off the backboard for an alley-oop dunk by the trailing Kyvon Davenport.

Martin's efforts during the week allowed him to surpass 1,300 points in his career. He ranks 19th on the school's all-time scoring list with 1,313 points, six shy of tying Memphis coach Penny Hardaway.

The Tigers (14-10, 6-5 The American) ended a three-game skid with Sunday's win over UConn and begin a two-game conference road trip Wednesday at ECU. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT.
