Griggs, Fankam Mendjiadeu earn Weekly Honor Roll nods

Memphis rolls into the holiday break on a four-game winning streak
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Freshman guard Madison Griggs and junior forward Dulcy Fankam Mendjiadeu were named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll Monday afternoon for their efforts in leading Memphis to victories over Little Rock and Mississippi Valley State this week. Â

This is the second time in both of their careers that they have earned recognition by The American.

Griggs tied her own school record with eight made three-pointers in Memphis' win over Mississippi Valley State on Dec. 20. In the fourth quarter alone, Griggs strung together five consecutive three-pointers to help propel Memphis to the commanding victory. Â

She finished with a career-high 26 points against the Devilettes. For the week, Griggs averaged 14.5 points and 2.5 rebounds per game. She also went to the line for the first time this season and made both free throws. Griggs shot 52 percent (9-for-17) from beyond the arc and 50 percent from the floor.

Fankam Mendjiadeu recorded her fourth and fifth career double-doubles in Memphis' wins this week. She recorded 12 rebounds in both wins and tied her career-high in points scored with 14 against Mississippi Valley State.

She also recorded 2.0 blocks per game and shot 59 percent (13-for-22) from the floor.
