Jamirah Shutes Named to AAC Weekly Honor Roll

Tigers sophomore averaged 17.0 points per game for the past week
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis women's basketball's Jamirah Shutes has been named to the American Athletic Conference's Weekly Honor Roll for her performances this week. The sophomore averaged 17.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game over the two outings this week.
Against Louisiana Tech, Shutes scored 21 points to lead all scorers. Shutes also recorded a career-high seven assists and chipped in five rebounds. Defensively, the Brownsville, Tenn., native recorded three steals, her third game with multiple swipes this year.
Sunday against George Washington, Shutes pitched in 13 points in the setback, adding seven rebounds and leading the team four assists. Shutes has led the team in scoring and assists in three of the four games, and is the only Tiger to have scored double-digit points in all four of Memphis' games this season.
Shutes will continue to lead Memphis as the Tigers travel to Carbondale, Ill. for its next game against Southern Illinois.
