White, Pickens earn league honors Monday

First time in program history Memphis has three different players earn Offensive POW in the AAC
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – For the first time in their careers, quarterback Brady White has been named the American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week while linebacker Thomas Pickens has been named to the league's Weekly Honor Roll. Â

This is the first time since joining The American Memphis has had three separate players earn Offensive Player of the Week Honors. This is the 14th time this season Memphis has had a Player of the Week or a member of the Weekly Honor Roll.

White continued to shine for the Tigers as he threw for 341 yards with five touchdowns against Houston. His 341 passing yards marked the seventh 300-yard game of his career and the five passing touchdowns tied his career high. White also recorded a 14-yard scamper into the end zone for his second rushing touchdown of the season.

With five touchdowns at Houston, White has now thrown for a career-high 28 touchdowns this season. He has also become the fourth quarterback in program history to surpass 6,000 career passing yards.

Pickens had a career day against the Cougars with his first career sack. He finished the day with two sacks and his first career forced fumble. The Memphis, Tenn., native has started in eight games for the Tigers and has 38 tackles with 3.5 tackles for loss.

Memphis hits the road this weekend for a 3 p.m. kickoff against USF.
