Tigers continue homestand Sunday against No. 1 West Virginia.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis rifle team opened a three-match home stretch against Army West Point and dropped a 4672-4646 decision to the Cadets. The match was held at the R.F. Fogelman Rifle Range on the UofM campus.

Army West Point, ranked No. 7 in the Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) poll, took both disciplines, winning smallbore 2315-2305 and air rifle 2357-2341. The Tigers were ranked No. 10 in the poll.

Sophomore David Crenshaw led the Tigers with a 1167 aggregate and placed fourth overall in the match.

The Tigers continue their homestand this weekend when they host No. 1 West Virginia Sunday, Nov. 3. Match time is 9 a.m. (CT) at the R.F. Fogelman Rifle Range.

Tigers Tidbits

David Crenshaw shot an aggregate of more than 1165 for a second-straight match. He put together a career-high 1169 aggregate at Navy Oct. 13.
David Crenshaw shot a career-best in the air rifle discipline for a second-straight match. He posted a 590 versus Army West Point. Two weeks earlier, Crenshaw shot a then career-best 587 in rifle.
Matt Dorey shot a season-high 585 in air rifle. His 1163 aggregate also was a season-best.
