White named finalist for Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award

BALTIMORE, Md. – Redshirt junior quarterback Brady White has been named a Top 10 finalist for the 2019 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award. The list of finalists have been selected based on player performance on-and-off the field.
Top 10 Golden Arm Award Candidates:
Nationally, White ranks fifth in passing efficiency (183.1) and yards per attempt (10.3), ninth in yards per completion (14.9), 10th in passing TDs (20), 13th in completion percentage (0.690) and 17th in total yards (2,161). Overall, he has five 300 yard passing games, including three this season. Only four other quarterbacks in program history have recorded at least five 300-plus yard passing games.
Earlier this season, White became the fifth quarterback in program history to throw for over 5,000 career yards, and he currently ranks fourth with 46 career TDs. Against Tulane on Oct. 19, he matched his career-high with five TD passes.
White has been named to the O'Brien Great 8 and the Manning Award Stars of the Week lists this season.
Kickoff for the Memphis-SMU game is set for the ABC Saturday Night football primetime slot at 6:30 p.m. (CT) Saturday at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium.
