Men's golf posts another Top 5 finish

Tigers tie for third at Intercollegiate at Innisbrook
INNISBROOK, Fla. – It's becoming habit-forming for the University of Memphis men's golf team.
For the fourth time in as many events this fall, the Tigers posted a Top 5 finish. Tuesday, it was at the Intercollegiate at Innisbrook as the UofM placed third at 2-over 854. James Madison won the event at 8-under 844, one stroke better than Campbell.
Memphis, ranked 49th, was led by senior Isaiah Jackson, who held the lead during Tuesday's final round before finishing second at 7-under 206. Jackson shot even-par 71 Tuesday and closed two strokes behind individual champion Pontus Nyholm. Nyholm had rounds of 67, 68 and 69 for his 204.
In addition to Jackson, the Tigers had two others – Rodi Vlasveld and Guillaume Chevalier – finish in the Top 10. Vlasveld shot 71-71-70 for 212 to tie for fifth and Chevalier shot 73-66-74 to tie for seventh. Borja Martin tied for 20th, his first Top 20 finish of the fall, by closing with a 72 for 216.
Other Tigers participating were: Phuripon Namkang (74 for 224) and William Harwood (75 for 224).
At the Men's South Region Preview held at Irene Golf & Country Club, Tigers Gregory Odom Jr., Nick Giles, Jake Kight and Landon Carner participated as individuals. Odom led the Memphis contingent by shooting 4-over 220. Giles and Kight closed at 226 and Carner shot 232.
Memphis closes the fall portion of its schedule at the East Bay Deli Classic Nov. 3-5 at Turtle Point Golf Club at Kiawah Island, S.C.
