Isaiah Jackson, Guillaume Chevalier pace Tigers on event's opening day

INNISBROOK, Fla. – Senior Isaiah Jackson shot 7-under par 135 in the opening two rounds and Guillaume Chevalier finished at 3-under 139 to help the University of Memphis place third at the Intercollegiate at Innisbrook after 36 holes.

As a team, the Tigers shot 3-under 565, three strokes behind co-leaders Campbell and James Madison University in the 16-team tournament. With Tuesday's final 18 holes remaining, the UofM is attempting to place in the top 5 of its fourth straight fall event.

Jackson followed an opening-round 70 with a 65 at the Innisbrook Resort's Copperhead Course, a par-71, 7,209-yard layout and is tied for second, two strokes behind leader Peter Knade of Maryland. Chevalier also had a solid second-round, firing a 5-under 66.

As for other Tigers, Rodi Vlasveld is tied for 12th after 36 holes and Borja Martin is tied for 22nd. Vlasveld shot 71-71 and is at even-par 142, while Martin shot 70-44 for 144. William Harwood is at 7-over 149.

Four Tiger golfers – Gregory Odom Jr., Nick Giles, Jake Kight and Landon Carner – remained home to play in the Men's South Region Preview at Irene Golf and Country Club. Odom is tied for eighth at even-par 144 (70-74) after 36 holes, followed by Kight (75-71 for 146), Giles (75-77 for 152) and Carner (76-77 for 153).
