Gainwell Earns Another Weekly Honor Roll Nod

Freshman running back Kenneth Gainwell records sixth-consecutive 100-plus yard rushing game at Tulsa
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – University of Memphis redshirt freshman running back Kenneth Gainwell has been named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll after continuing to shine in the 42-41 road victory at Tulsa on Saturday. Gainwell led the Tigers with 149 yards on the ground and a career-high three touchdowns in the victory.

Saturday's game marked the sixth-consecutive game this season Gainwell has recorded at least 100 rushing yards. Gainwell's streak of six games is the third-longest in program history behind streaks of 13 games and 10 games by former NFL first round draft pick, DeAngelo Williams.

Gainwell currently leads all freshmen nationally with 969 rushing yards and is first nationally with 1,419 all-purpose yards from the line of scrimmage. He also ranks in the top-10 nationally in rushing yards per carry, total touchdowns, rushing yards per game, scoring per game and rushing touchdowns. With 440 receiving yards, Gainwell is the nation's top receiving running back.

This is the fourth time Gainwell has been recognized by The American this season. Gainwell has earned three Weekly Honor Roll nods as well as the Offensive Player of the Week honor on Oct. 21.
