ESPN's College GameDay Heading To The 901

BRISTOL, Conn. – The whispers that began at the start of October became reality Monday when ESPN officials announced that the Tigers and the City of Memphis will host College Gameday Built by the Home Depot, college football's premier pregame show, on Saturday, Nov. 2.

College GameDay airs Saturdays from 8-11 a.m. (CT) throughout the college football season. This weekend's show will be set on Beale Street. Information on parking, schedules and other additional news about GameDay will be announced as details are finalized.

"It is truly amazing and historic that ESPN's College GameDay is coming to Memphis to be an integral part of all of the positive energy at the UofM," said Laird Veatch, Director of Athletics. "I feel so fortunate being at this University and in this city at this time, with the tremendous amount of excitement surrounding Tiger Nation."

The University of Memphis is the 74^th different school and the City of Memphis is the 88^th city to host the show.

Kickoff for the Memphis-SMU game is set for the ABC Saturday Night football primetime slot at 6:30 p.m. (CT) Saturday at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium.

"This weekend is a celebration for all of Memphis," Veatch stated. "It is going to be remarkable. The University of Memphis is the prime time national telecast on ABC. No. 23 Memphis vs. No. 14 SMU ... it doesn't get any better than this. Come be a part of one of the biggest days in Memphis Football history. Go Tigers!"

Memphis is running a $9.01 flash sale on tickets to the Nov. 2 SMU game through Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 11:59 p.m. To purchase tickets during the flash sale, fans must log HERE and enter promo code GAMEDAY. There is a limit of eight tickets that can be purchased at this special 901 flash sale price.
