White Earns Recognition from Pair of Organizations

Quarterback named to the O'Brien Great 8 and Manning Award Stars of the Week lists.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Quarterback Brady White was recognized by a pair of organizations for his 358-yard, five-TD effort in Memphis' 47-17 win over Tulane Saturday. On Monday, White was named to the Davey O'Brien Great 8 list and the Manning Award Stars of the Week lists.
The O'Brien Great 8 list is assembled each week in honor of TCU quarterback Davey O'Brien, who wore the number 8. The award selection subcommittee selects eight quarterbacks each week to honor. White is on this week's list with Shane Buechele of SMU, Joe Burrow of LSU, Sean Clifford of Penn State, Sam Ehlinger of Texas, Anthony Gordon of Washington State, Justin Herbert of Oregon and Jalen Hurts of Oklahoma.
The Manning Award was created by the Allstate Sugar Bowl in 2004 to honor the accomplishments of the Manning quarterbacks. Fans can vote for White's performance on Facebook here: .
The Manning Award Stars of the Week this week included White, Buechele (SMU0 Herbert (Oregon), Hurts (Oklahoma), Eastern Michigan's Preston Hutchinson, Iowa State's Brock Purdy, Ohio's Nathan Rourke and Air Force's Mike Schmidt.
Memphis is back on the road this weekend, playing a West Division showdown at Tulsa at 6 p.m. (CT). That game will air on CBS Sports Network.
It was also announced on Monday that Memphis' Nov. 2nd conference clash with SMU has been picked as a six-day selection by the American Athletic Conference television partners. That game, which is also Memphis' homecoming, will be played at either 2:30 pm or 6:30 pm (CT). Game time will be announced at some point Saturday night after Memphis plays at Tulsa.
