MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Wide receiver Damonte Coxie and quarterback Brady White were named to the Touchdown Club of Columbus' Players to Watch List and will be honored at the February 9 Awards show in Columbus in Ohio. The duo follows former Tigers Riley Ferguson and Anthony Miller (2017) and Darrell Henderson (2018) on the Touchdown Club's list. Coxie is one of five wide receivers that will be recognized at the February 9 Awards show while White is one of eight quarterbacks invited to the event.
Coxie is coming off a season in which he was just the third player in program history to post a 1,000-yard receiving season. His 83.9 receiving yards per game ranked third in The American and his 5.1 catches per game ranked fifth.

He is already eighth in the Memphis career record book through 14 career games and his 13.40 yards per completion last year ranked 19thin the country.
The duo is part of a Memphis offense that ranked fifth in the country last year with 523.1 yards per game and with 344 total first downs. They are two of the seven starters returning to Memphis football when spring ball opens on March 16th.

About the Touchdown Club of Columbus
The Touchdown Club of Columbus was founded in 1956 at the request of then State Auditor (and eventual Governor) James A. Rhodes by the late Sam B. Nicola. For the first ten years of the banquet, the Master of Ceremonies was Baseball Hall of Fame announcer Mel Allen, and the guest list read like a virtual Who's Who of American sports legends -- football immortals such as Jim Brown, Bronko Nagurski, Bobby Layne, and of course, Coach Woody Hayes. Baseball Hall of Famers with names like Mantle, Mays, Koufax and Derek Jeter have graced the stage at the annual Touchdown Club Banquet.
But the Touchdown Club name has always been somewhat of a misnomer since athletes from all sports are recognized each year. In the past 60+ years, the Touchdown Club of Columbus has hosted and honored more than 2000 of the world's finest athletes, as well as the greatest football players to ever take the field. Athletes are selected each year by the Touchdown Club's committees consisting of coaches, sportswriters, and former players themselves.
