DeMoss Sets School Record Saturday

Senior breaks own school mark in the men's 60 meters, time tied for fifth-fastest in nation.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – University of Memphis' Davon DeMoss did it again – in a Vanderbilt-hosted meet.

The Tigers senior sprinter shattered his previous 60 meters record of 6.67 with a 6.61 effort to highlight Saturday action at the 2019 Vanderbilt Invitational. His previous record time of 6.67 was set at the 2017 Music City Challenge, which also was hosted by Vanderbilt.

DeMoss won the 60-meters title, and the event crown was the fifth of his indoor career. His 6.61 time is tied for fifth-best at the NCAA Division I level.

DeMoss' school record came on the heels of DeeNia McMiller's school record 66-5 (20.24m) mark in the women's weight throw Friday night.

Up Next
The Tigers return to action Jan. 25 when they travel to Jonesboro, Ark., for the A-State Invitational.

- Matthew Kamph cut nearly five seconds off his previous personal-best time in the men's 3000 meters.
