Women's Basketball Celebrates Academic Success

The Tigers finished the fall semester with a 3.08 team grade-point average

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis women's basketball team continues to have academic success in the classroom after submitting a 3.08 team grade-point average during the fall semester.

This is the third-straight semester the Tigers have registered at least a 3.0 team GPA and 10^th overall semester Memphis has had at least a 3.0 GPA under the direction of head coach Melissa McFerrin. After the 2017 fall semester, the Tigers had a program-record 3.179 team GPA.

Seven players in Taylor Barnes, Camille Buckhanon, Kiana Coomber, Jasmine James, Brianna Porter, Jamirah Shutes, and Jada Stinson were named to the Academic Honor Roll for carrying at least a 3.0 GPA.

Two of those players, Barnes and James, were named to the Dean's List for earning at least a 3.5 GPA. James was also tabbed to the Tiger Academic 30 for having the highest term GPA on the team.
