Tigers host Mississippi State Thursday to cap home stand

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – After back-to-back shutouts in its opening weekend, Memphis women's soccer caps a three-match home stand against Mississippi State. Thursday's kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Mike Rose Soccer Complex.

A Look at Mississippi State
Mississippi State comes to Memphis after also posting a pair of shutouts to open the season. The Bulldogs blanked Southern Miss by a score of 3-0 in the season opener in Starkville, and then defeated Stephen F. Austin on the road by the same score on Sunday.
Junior forward MaKayla Waldner leads the Bulldogs with three goals, including a pair of scores against Stephen F. Austin. Freshman defender Miranda Carrasco has the early team lead in assists with three helpers.
Between the posts, redshirt senior Rhylee DeCrane has played all 180 minutes, stopping two shots on goal. DeCrane's two shutouts to start the season are the first of her career. As a team, Mississippi State earned a shutout in its last three matches dating back to last season, which is the longest streak since the Bulldogs blanked six straight opponents in 2012.
