Tigers host UCA to cap weekend

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – After claiming a season-opening victory to start the 2018 campaign, Memphis women's soccer will host the Central Arkansas Bears on Sunday. Match time is slated for 7 p.m. at Mike Rose Soccer Complex and admission is free.

Five Things To Know About Memphis
- Memphis opened the 2018 season with a 4-0 victory against the Omaha Mavericks Thursday at Mike Rose Soccer Complex. The Tigers scored twice in the first 20 minutes of play and added a pair of goals in the second half to seal the match.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Elizabeth Moberg earned the win against Omaha. The Port Saint Lucie, Fla., native stopped the lone Maverick shot on goal in the second half to secure her fifth career shutout.
- Seven freshmen saw playing time for Memphis in Thursday night's victory. Kimberley Smit assisted on the Tigers' opening goal and scored the final goal of the night, while Grace Duncan assisted on sophomore Sam Murphy's goal that increased Memphis' lead to 3-0 in the second half.

A Look at UCA
Central Arkansas played to a 1-1 draw against Little Rock Friday night in its season opener. After a scoreless first half, Little Rock netted the match's first goal in the 49th minute. UCA then evened the score in the 57th minute of the contest. The Bears closed the night with a 19-16 shot advantage.
The Bears, who were picked to finish fourth in the Southland Conference Preseason Poll, return seven players from the 2017 squad. UCA finished fourth in the Southland last season with an 11-10-0 record, including a 7-4-0 mark in conference play.
