Men’s Soccer Releases Fall Schedule

The 2018 fall schedule features contests against four NCAA Tournament teams
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis men's soccer team releases its 2018 fall schedule Tuesday, a schedule that features seven American Athletic Conference matches and four contests against teams that qualified for the NCAA Tournament just a year ago.
The Tigers have six regular season contests at home and a road tournament on tap. Memphis opens the season on Aug. 24 against SIUE.
"We always want to set up a non-conference schedule both on the road and at home that will prepare us for our conference games," said head coach Richard Mulrooney. "In addition to that, we strive for strong RPI games and I believe we were able to achieve both of those with our 2018 schedule."
COMPLETE 2018 FALL SCHEDULE
After opening the season against SIUE, Memphis will hit the road for five-straight matches, beginning with Saint Louis on Aug. 26. The next two contests are a part of the UAB Tournament where Memphis will take on Coastal Carolina and Fairleigh Dickinson on Aug. 31 and Sept. 2. The Tigers will then head to Omaha, Neb. for a road match against Creighton and a neutral site match against Utah Valley on Sept. 7 and 9.
Memphis then returns home for three out of the next four matches, starting with Belmont on Sept. 15. Before beginning conference play against Cincinnati on Sept. 23, the Tigers will head back to Birmingham to face former C-USA rival UAB on Sept. 18. The 2018 conference slate is highlighted with seven conference matches including four in Memphis this season.
The Tigers have two more midweek contests in the mix of conference games in Central Arkansas on Oct. 9 and Lipscomb on Oct. 23.
Memphis will host UCF on Senior Day on Oct. 27 before wrapping up the regular season on the road at USF on Nov. 2. The American Athletic Conference Championship will take place on Nov. 6-10 at a non-predetermined site. Six of the eight teams qualify for the AAC Championship.
