David Zalzman named to United Soccer Coaches All-East Region team

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – David Zalzman was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-East Region Third Team, as announced Wednesday morning by the organization.
Zalzman was named to the team after finishing the season with four goals, including two on penalty kicks. The Maracay, Venezuela native scored his first goal of the season in the home opener against SIUE. He followed that performance with back-to-back games with a goal, one against Belmont, and the other coming via a penalty kick against UAB.
"Obviously we saw the day to day impact that David had on this team, and it's nice that others are noticing as well," head coach Richard Mulrooney said of David. "I am pleased that he is being recognized for his hard work and dedication to this program."
The senior's final goal of the season was also the result of a PK, this one as the equalizer in the American Athletic Conference Championship quarterfinal win over USF. The victory marked the first post-season win for Zalzman and the Tigers as members of the AAC.
Zalzman is the first Tiger to be added to an All-Region team since Mark Sherrod was named to the USCAA All-Midwest team in 2011.
