Tigers Accept Birmingham Bowl Invitation

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis football team has accepted an invitation to the Birmingham Bowl and will face Wake Forest on Saturday, December 22 at 11 a.m. CT at Legion Field in Birmingham, Alabama. The game will be broadcast nationally by ESPN.
Tickets for the 2018 Birmingham Bowl will go on sale at www.GoTigersGoTix.com later on Sunday. Seating is based on Tiger Scholarship Fund giving levels.
THE SERIES
This will be the fifth match-up between Memphis and Wake Forest, but the first since 1967. The overall series is tied at 2-2 with Memphis winning the last meeting in 1967, 42-10.
ABOUT THE DEMON DEACONS
Wake Forest went 6-6 on the season, ending the regular-season with a 59-7 win over Duke. The Tigers and the Demon Deacons have had one common opponent this season. Wake Forest defeated Tulane in New Orleans, 23-17, in overtime, in their season opener.
