- Friday's NCAA South Region Championships is the first time the women's team has run the Apalachee Regional Park since 2016. That season, Memphis recorded the program's highest regional team finish with a 10th-place performance. The Tigers also had two runners – Martina Rodriguez Sala and Chelsea Ladd – post top-20 finishes and earn NCAA All-South Region honors.
- On the men's side, Friday's race is the program's first at Apalachee Regional Park since 2014. That campaign, the Tigers placed 18thin the regional race.
- Last season, the Tigers sent two women's runners, Arnica Zitting and Paige Sandwell, to compete in the region championships.
- The last time Memphis sent a full men's team to the NCAA region championships was in 2015. The last time a full women's squad competed in the regional race was in 2016.
- Senior Kristen Adams and junior Paige Sandwell are representing the Tigers women's team in Friday's NCAA South Region Championships.
- It is Adams' second run in the NCAA South Region Championships, having last competed in 2014.
