Get To Know Me: Hayden Ferrari
Nov 30, 2018 | Football
Tigers senior has played in five games this season.
Note: The Hayden Ferrari "Get To Know Me" first appeared in the Tigers Football GameDay program Nov. 23 when Memphis hosted Houston.
Hayden Ferrari has been raised around the Memphis Tigers his whole life. A Memphis native, Ferrari was coached by former Tiger Scott Vogel at Christian Brothers High School. He's also had his father, former Tigers quarterback Tommy Ferrari, as a constant role model in his life.
Â
Ferrari said that when it came to decide where to go to college, he decided to walk on at Memphis and follow in his father's footsteps.
Let's learn more about this homegrown Tiger.
Â
I decided to become a Tiger because… Staying in my hometown and playing where my dad played was a big part of my decision. Having (former) coach Darrell Dickey give me the opportunity to walk on and stay home, close to my family, playing where my dad played were the reasons why I made that decision.
Â
My favorite class at Memphis is… A real estate investment class that I'm taking right now. It's a very hands-on class, and the teacher makes it fun. We're working on a project that is more real-life, day-to-day skills that I can take with me and use.
Â
My favorite meal my mom cooks is… My mother's dressing on Thanksgiving. It is amazing!
Â
My favorite social media platform is… Instagram. I love following all types of hunting accounts.
Â
My favorite activity/hobby outside of football is… Hunting. I've been hunting my whole life and have always stayed around the southeast region on my trips. Deer would have to be my favorite animal to hunt.
Â
If I had a choice to watch a movie or read a book, I would… Watch the movie. I am definitely a "watch-the-movie" kind of guy! I'm not that much of a fan of reading books. My favorite movie would have to be Rudy.
Â
My most embarrassing moment on the football field was… My first spring here when we had to do a kick-off drill and hit the sled at the end. I hit the sled really hard, and my feet fell from underneath me. It (the sled) fell right on top of me. But, I got up really quick, and nobody noticed it. However, at that year's fall camp when they were showing us the drills we had to do, they showed us ways not do it and there popped up the video on the screen of the sled falling on me. It hadn't been seen by anyone until then.
Â
My plans after graduation are… I'm graduating in December. With my degree in finance and real estate, I would like to get in to real estate investing or agricultural sales. There isn't a degree program for agricultural sales here (at Memphis), so I would probably do internships and work side jobs so I can get my foot in the door.
