Five Tigers listed to United Soccer Coaches All-Region teams

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A program-record five women's soccer players earned recognition as United Soccer Coaches All-South Region team selections, the organization announced.

Senior Olivia Gauthier, junior Serena Dolan and sophomore Clarissa Larisey were named to the first team. Senior Marie Levasseur, who earned her third career all-region honor, was listed second team, and sophomore Elizabeth Moberg was tabbed to the third team.

The three first-team honorees match the most in program history. The Tigers also had three first-team all-region selections in 2009 and 2011. Memphis' five all-region picks were also the most of any other school in the South Region.

Gauthier, who was previously named third-team all-region in 2016 and 2017, capped her career as The American's Defensive Player of the Year. A four-time all-conference selection, Gauthier tallied five assists for the Tigers this season and anchored a back line that pitched 13 shutouts.

Dolan earned her first all-region honor after a solid season with the Tigers. The junior earned first-team all-conference accolades after netting two goals and dishing out three assists, while serving as a staple in the Memphis midfield. The Kentville, Nova Scotia native started every match for the Tigers, logging 1587 minutes and was a threat on corner kicks. Dolan also earned a spot on the AAC all-rookie team in 2016.

Larisey's first all-region accolade comes after a breakout year on attack. The sophomore led the squad with 12 goals and 28 points in 2018. A unanimous first-team all-conference selection, Larisey started all 21 matches for the Tigers and was named the AAC Tournament's Most Outstanding Player.

Levasseur makes her third appearance on an all-region team after earning third team all-region honors in 2016 and second team all-region accolades in 2017. Named an all-conference selection all four years, Levasseur tallied six goals and eight assists in her final season in the Blue and Gray. The Stoneham, Quebec native was also named first-team all-conference in 2016, 2017 and 2018, and earned Rookie of the Year in 2015 to go along with a spot on the all-rookie team.

After a record-setting season in goal for the Tigers, Moberg earned her first all-region accolade as a third-team honoree. Moberg registered 13 shutouts in 2018, which ranks as the most by a sophomore in program history. The Port St. Lucie, Florida native was named the league's Goalkeeper of the Week three times this season and was named second team all-conference.
