NEW ORLEANS, La. – University of Memphis' Molly Murrihy went over 1,000 assists for the season Wednesday afternoon, but Tulane won the American Athletic Conference season finale 3-0.

The Green Wave won the match by scores of 25-15, 25-15 and 25-19. Memphis finishes with an 11-19 overall record and a 4-14 mark in the league. Tulane improves to 25-8 overall and 13-5 in the conference and now awaits a postseason bid.

Murrihy entered Wednesday's match with 999 assists and had 21 versus Tulane to finish the season with 1,020 assists. She is the first Tigers setter since 2014 to have 1,000 assists in a season. In that 2014 campaign, Veronica Zimmerman had 1,397 assists

Tigers Tidbits
- Senior Kelsea Bivinsfinished her two-year Memphis career with 538 kills. She transferred to Memphis from Wallace State Community College in Alabama prior to the 2017 season.
- Sophomore Hannah Flowers led the Tigers with 45 service aces in 2018. It is the most service aces by a Tiger in a season since Christine Bach served 47 aces in 2008.
- Hannah Flowers also has 373 kills this season, the most by a Tiger in a campaign since 2014 when Kate Gibson had 380 kills. Flowers has 630 kills in her two seasons.
- Hannah Flowers and Kelsea Bivins improved their offensive production by over 100 kills from 2017. Flowers knocked down 257 kills as a freshman in 2017 and had 373 this season. Bivins had 202 kills as a junior last season and had 336 in 2018.
- Senior Kelsey Walter finished the season with 123 blocks. The 123 blocks nearly doubled her blocks total (71) from her first three seasons combined.
- Senior Mady Ruhlman reached the 1,000-digs milestone earlier this season, and she finished her career with 1,119 digs. Ruhlman had 52 career double-digit digs matches.

Set One
- Memphis stayed with the host Green Wave through the first 16 points, as the teams were tied at 8-all.
- Four different Tigers had one kill early.
- Tulane then used a 4-0 run to gain a 12-8 advantage.
- The Tigers fought back with a 6-3 spurt to pull to within one at 15-14.
- Two Hannah Flowers kills and one Anna Palmer kill keyed the run.
- From there, the Green Wave closed the set on a 10-1 run to claim the 25-15 set victory.Â
Set Two
- Tulane took the early 5-1 lead and extended its advantage to 10-5.
- Memphis battled back with a 6-1 surge to tie the set at 11-all.
- Sarah Marlatt had two aces and Meredith Wallace knocked down two kills in the run. The spurt culminated in a Kelsey Walter-Molly Murrihy block to tie the set.
- Tulane answered with a 5-0 run of its own to push out to a 16-11 advantage and never trailed the remained of the set.
- The Green Wave continued their momentum and closed the set on a 9-4 spurt for the 25-15 win.
Set Three
- Tulane ran out to a 5-1 early advantage and never trailed.
- Memphis closed to within three at 9-6, but that was as close as the Tigers got in the set.
- Three Flowers kills and a kill each from Kelsea Bivins and Walter brought the Tigers back.
- The Green Wave maintained their three-to-four point advantage the rest of the way and won the set 25-19 and the match 3-0.
