Bivins leads the Tigers with 13 kills.

GREENVILLE, N.C. – University of Memphis' Kelsea Bivins had a team-high 13 kills, but it wasn't enough as ECU won Friday's American Athletic Conference encounter 3-0.

The Pirates won the match by scores of 25-22, 25-21 and 25-21. Memphis falls to 11-17 overall and 4-12 in the league. ECU improves to 13-14 overall and 5-11 in the conference.

The 13-kills performance was Bivins' 10^thdouble-digit match in her last 12 outings.

Memphis continues its American Athletic Conference weekend road trip Sunday when it faces the Bearcats in Cincinnati, Ohio. Match time is 11:30 a.m. (CT). Sunday's match will be played in the newly-remodeled Fifth Third Arena.

"This match could have gone either way tonight. It was back-and-forth, but we didn't make the necessary plays at the end of the set. You have to finish when you get the chance on the road. We will have to defend better against Cincinnati on Sunday."

With her 13 kills Friday, Kelsea Bivins now has 530 kills in her two-year career at Memphis.
Molly Murrihy had 26 assists vs. ECU and now has 976 assists this season. When she reaches 1,000 assists this season, she will be the first Tigers setter to do so since 2014.

Set One

Memphis jumped out to an early 4-2 advantage.
Kelsea Bivins and Kelsey Walter each logged a kill in the opening run.
The Pirates responded with a 10-5 spurt to take a 12-9 lead midway through the set.
ECU pushed out to a 13-10 lead before a 4-0 Memphis run gave the Tigers a 14-13 advantage.
Four-consecutive ECU errors allowed the Tigers to grab the lead.
The Pirates then used an 8-4 spurt to regain the advantage at 21-18.
Memphis came back to tie the set at 21-all, but could not continue its momentum.
ECU closed the set on a 4-1 run for the 25-22 win.

Set Two

The teams went back-and-forth in the opening half of the set with 14 ties in the first 28 points.
Memphis pushed out to a 17-14 lead with a 3-0 run.
The Tigers continued their spurt, and a Bivins kill put Memphis ahead at 19-15.
ECU, though, had an answer.
The Pirates closed the set on a 10-2 run for the 25-21 win and a 2-0 match lead.

Set Three

The Pirates carried over momentum from the second set and rushed out to a 10-5 lead.
Memphis, though, fought back with an 8-2 spurt to take a 13-12 advantage.
Bivins had four kills in the Tigers' run.
The set was tied at 15-all when Memphis went on a run.
The Tigers – powered by two Anna Palmer kills and one Walter ace – pushed out to a 19-16 lead.
ECU closed the set on a 9-2 run for the 25-21 win and 3-0 match victory.
