Women's Golf Sixth at the End of Day One at Kentucky

Michaela Fletcher solidly in the top 10 at the end of day one.
Memphis, Tenn. – The Lady Tigers stand in sixth place after an opening round 297 at the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational at the University of Kentucky's Big Blue Course, Friday.
Michaela Fletcher carded an even-round 72 and is tied for seventh on the leaderboard. Fletcher pocketed three birdies, two off the front-nine of the course.
Madison Thomas, returning to play in her home state of Kentucky, finished the day tied for 20th with a 74.
Julia Matzat shot a 75 on the first day of play, and was closely followed by Sydney Colwill's 76. Abby Herrmann carded a 78 in her opening round. Matzat's 75 ties her lowest score in a round this year, matching the 75 shot in the final round at the Payne Stewart Memorial.
The lone Tiger competing as an individual, Victoria Gallegos, shot a score of 77, finishing five shots over par. Gallegos currently sits tied for 41stoverall.
Memphis will be back on the Big Blue Course tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. ET to start day two of action. Penn State and Western Kentucky will be the other two teams joining the Tigers on the course. The University of Kentucky finished day one with a 280 (-8). Notre Dame is in second place, with a total score of 291.
