Memphis Hosts UCF for Senior Day

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Tigers will play their final home match of the season against UCF on Saturday night. The team will celebrate Senior Day, recognizing the two seniors on the roster shortly before kickoff. Match time is scheduled for 7 p.m.

The Memphis Tigers
The Tigers host the Knights after defeating Lipscomb on Tuesday. The 2-0 decision marked the sixth shutout for Memphis in 2018. Alexandros Ierides created both scoring opportunities, logging a goal and an assist in the match. The defense held strong, allowing only eight total shots.
Scoring has been a team effort all season long, as nine Tigers have scored a goal in 2018, with five players that have scored multiple times. Peyton McKnatt, David Zalzman and Chris Mikus lead the way with three goals apiece. Eight individuals have dished an assist as well, led by Ierides' team-high four. Between the pipes, Memphis goalies have combined for six shutouts and 60 saves. Parker Lackland picked up his second consecutive shutout against Lipscomb.
The Tigers are led by head coach Richard Mulrooney, who wraps up the home schedule of his fifth season on Saturday. Memphis holds the fifth spot in the conference standings, with a 2-2-1 conference record. Six teams will clinch spots in the American Athletic Conference Tournament.
Saturday will also feature a ceremony for the two seniors on the team, David Zalzman and Mason Morise. A pregame presentation for the seniors will take place to honor their contributions to the Memphis program.

UCF comes to Memphis after a 2-1 victory over in-state rival USF. The Knights have eclipsed the 10-win mark, one of two American teams to hit double-digit wins this season.
Cal Jennings leads the team in goals and points, having notched an American record 18 goals and 40 points this season. In goal, Yannik Oettl has maintained a 1.03 goals allowed average
The Knights are led by Scott Calabrese, now in his second season at the helm. The Newton, Conn., native coached the 2017 AAC Offensive Player of the Year Matias Pyysalo to 10 goals and six assists.
