MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis women's basketball team looks to regain momentum Saturday by hosting Wichita State at the Elma Roane Fieldhouse. Tipoff against the Shockers is slated for 1 p.m.

Saturday's game is also the Teddy Bear Toss game, where fans can receive free admission by bringing in a new Teddy Bear or stuffed animal. Pouncer will be in attendance to help collect the bears during halftime.

Last Wednesday, the Tigers hosted No. 1 UConn in front of over 2,300 fans at the Elma Roane Fieldhouse. Although the Tigers suffered a setback to the nation's top team, Brea Elmore and Jada Stinson scored in double-digits to lead Memphis.

Memphis is looking to even the season series with Wichita State on Saturday. The Shockers won the first meeting in Wichita on Jan. 10. Entering Saturday's game against the Shockers, here are some tidbits to know about the Memphis women's basketball team:

Brea Elmore is now 84 points away from reaching the 1,000-point milestone after scoring a team-high 13 points against UConn. Elmore will become the 25^th member of the Memphis 1,000-point club.
Elmore and Jada Stinson combined for five made three-pointers against the Huskies. Elmore has hit a career-high 45 three-pointers this season which includes 17 in conference play.
The 2,313 fans in attendance against No. 1 UConn last Wednesday was the third-highest total since Memphis added chairback seating in 2003. All-time in the Fieldhouse, it was the 16^th highest attendance.
Cheyenne Creighton and Elmore lead the Tigers with 15.4 points per game. Taylor Barnes is also scoring a career-high 8.2 points per game for Memphis. Stinson leads all freshmen with 6.8 points per game.
A Memphis victory would improve the Tigers to 8-13 on the year and 3-5 in American Athletic Conference play. A win for the Tigers would improve Memphis to 3-1 all-time against Wichita State and 3-0 at the Elma Roane Fieldhouse.

A Look At Wichita State
Wichita State comes to Memphis riding on a four-game winning streak, dating back to Jan. 10 against the Tigers in Wichita. Overall, the Shockers are 9-12 on the year and 4-3 in American Athletic Conference play.

The 4-3 AAC record places Wichita State in a tie for fifth place in the league with Houston.

Rangie Bessard leads the offensive attack for Wichita State with 18.6 points per game. She also is the team's leading rebounder with 7.9 boards per contest. Diamond Lockhart also is scoring in double-digits with 10.4 points per game. In 21 starts this season, Lockhart leads the Shockers with 3.2 assists per game.

Keitha Adams is in her first season at the helm of the Shocker program. Before Wichita State, Adams spent 16 years of her career at UTEP where she had a 284-209 win-loss record.

Series History With Wichita State
This is the fourth overall meeting between the Tigers and the Shockers. Memphis holds a 2-1 all-time advantage. Until dropping the first game against Wichita State this year, Memphis last played the Shockers on March 21, 2010 in the WBI Tournament. Memphis won by a score of 74-58. At the Elma Roane Fieldhouse, Memphis is a perfect 2-0 against Wichita State.
