Women’s Tennis Caps Day at Missouri Tournament

Tigers wrap up first tournament of season on Saturday.
MEMPHIS – The University of Memphis women's tennis team closed out day two at the Mizzou Invite with one round of singles play and one round of doubles play.
In doubles, the tandem of Hanna Sohn and Katherine Cao faced their first nationally-ranked opponents of the season, falling 6-1 to the #16 ranked team in the country, Wichita State's Fatima Bizhukova and Gabriele Porubin. Teammates Claire Sullivan and Josephine Cao faced opponents from host Missouri, falling 6-4, while Laura Bente and Lina Hohnold fell 6-3 to the Wichita State pairing of Alexandra Lazarova and Marta Belluco.
In singles play, Memphis faced four opponents from Kansas State. KSU claimed all four matches, setting Memphis up for the final day of play on Saturday.
