Criticos, Pryke head to Eugene, Ore., next week.
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Memphis track and field teams competed in the NCAA East Preliminaries this past weekend, and are sending two performers to the 2017 NCAA Championships.
Junior Michael Criticos and sophomore Ashley Pryke qualified for the national meet in the men's and women's javelin, respectively. The NCAA Championships are June 7-10 in Eugene, Ore.
The NCAA meet appearance is Criticos' second of his career, having competed in the 2015 national event. It is Pryke's first trip to the NCAA Championships.
In late action Saturday, the NCAA East Preliminaries had to juggle a schedule that shifted as a result of inclement weather all day. Senior Chardae Greenlee wrapped up her standout career in the women's triple jump, and sophomore Jordan Wesner competed in the men's high jump. Neither earned marks to advance to the national meet.
