Rifle No. 11 In Final National Poll

Squad ranked No. 11 or higher for 13 weeks in 2016-17.
MURRAY, Ky. – The University of Memphis rifle squad wrapped up its 2016-17 season ranked No. 11 in the final Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) poll. The Tigers were No. 11 in the poll for the final five weeks of the season.
Memphis remained around the top-10 of the poll most of the campaign. The Tigers stayed in the No. 11 spot for a total of seven weeks and also were ranked in the top-10 for six weeks. The 2016-17 team climbed as high as No. 8 in the poll in mid-October.
West Virginia, the 2017 NCAA champion, claimed the poll's top spot. TCU, which was No. 1 in the final six regular-season polls, finished No. 2, followed by Murray State at No. 3, Kentucky at No. 4 and Alaska-Fairbanks at No. 5.
All nine Great American Rifle Conference (GARC) programs were in the final poll with West Virginia at No. 1, followed by No. 4 Kentucky, No. 6 Nebraska, No. 9 N.C. State, No. 10 Army, No. 11 Memphis, No. 13 Ole Miss, No. 15 Navy and No. 16 Akron.
