Women's Basketball Celebrates Senior Night Against Tulane Monday

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis women's basketball team will recognize its two seniors, Loysha Morris and Taylor Williams, Monday evening prior to tip-off against Tulane. The game on ESPN3 is set to start at 7 p.m. at the Elma Roane Fieldhouse.

The Tigers come into the final game of the season with a 13-15 overall record and 6-9 mark in American Athletic Conference play. Memphis defeated Tulane earlier this season in New Orleans.

Before the game, Loysha Morris and Taylor Williams will be recognized by the women's basketball staff. Morris has competed for head coach Melissa McFerrin for the past two seasons and has started in 33 games in that time. Williams has been a member of the Memphis squad since she was a freshman in 2013 and now ranks in the top-10 for all-time games played in a Memphis uniform.

Against Connecticut on Saturday afternoon, Cheyenne Creighton registered her eighth double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Brea Elmore also played well offensively, scoring a team-high 19 points against the Huskies. Elmore's 19 points was the second most points scored by a Tiger since beginning play against the Huskies in 2014 when Ariel Hearn scored 20 that season.

Memphis has won 10 of its 15 home games to-date including four out of the last five games. With Tulane coming to town, the Tigers look to take the series sweep over the Green Wave.

The Tigers are currently sitting in eighth place in the American Athletic Conference standings. Memphis is coached by Melissa McFerrin who is in her ninth season at the helm.

Tulane is coming off of five days rest after falling to UCF on Feb. 22 by a score of 56-51. The Green Wave is 16-12 overall and 7-8 in conference play. Since the Tigers defeated Tulane on Feb. 9, the Green Wave are 1-3 with their only victory coming at home against Cincinnati on Feb. 15.

Kolby Morgan continues to lead the Green Wave offensively and on the glass with 18.7 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. She has made a team-high 62 three-pointers at a clip of 38.3 percent.

Tulane gave No. 1 UConn a run for its money on Feb. 18 at home by falling to the Huskies by a 63-60. Lisa Stockton is the head coach of the Green Wave currently in her 23rd season at the helm. In conference play, Tulane is currently in a tie for fifth place in the league with Cincinnati.
