Levasseur, Gauthier Named To United Soccer Coaches All-Region Teams

Second time both players have been named to all-region teams
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis women's soccer players Marie Levasseur and Olivia Gauthier have been named Second and Third-Team All-Southeast Region, respectively, as announced by the United Soccer Coaches. This is the second time in their careers that the juniors have been recognized as all-region selections.

Levasseur, a First-Team All-American Athletic Conference pick, earned a spot on the second-team. This season, she finished with a career-high seven goals scored and eight assists to lead Memphis to an 11-6-3 overall record. Her seven goals this season ranked third on the Tiger squad and three of those were game-winners.

The Stoneham, Quebec City native enters into her senior season with 18 goals, 17 assists and 53 starts for the Tigers.

Gauthier earned a spot on the third-team after being named Second-Team All-American Athletic Conference earlier this fall. Leading the team with 1877 minutes played, Gauthier anchored the Memphis backline to eight shutouts in 2017, including four in the first five matches of the season.

She was also credited with a pair of assists to bring her career total to six as she enters into her senior season. Gauthier has started in 59 matches to-date for Memphis.

The 11-6-3 record was the second-straight 10+-win season for head coach Brooks Monaghan and his 11th overall. Memphis finished the season in the semifinals of the American Athletic Conference Tournament.
