Men’s Tennis Starts Regionals Thursday

One round of doubles and singles on tap for Thursday.

MEMPHIS – The Memphis men's tennis team will play one round of singles and one round of doubles to start play at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional at the University of Tennessee, Thursday.

The morning will open with one round of doubles play. All three Memphis doubles teams are seeded, and the top seeded Tiger tandem is that of Kai Lemke and Matt Story. The duo is the three seed for this year's event and will face Xavier's Jan Vrba and Jack Dykema at 8 a.m.

At the same time, the tandem of Chris Patzanovsky and Turner Voges are the 10 seeds and will also start at 8 a.m., facing the Kentucky duo of Cesar Bourgeois and Enzo Wallart of Kentucky.

The final Memphis entry is the team of Jan Pallares and Felix Rauch. That set of Tigers are seeded ninth and will face the Purdue team of Stephan Koenigsfest and Maksymilian Rapuk at 8:30 a.m.

Senior Kai Lemke is the top seeded Tiger in singles play. He and teammate Felix Rauch will start the singles schedule with 10 a.m. matches. Lemke will face Tennessee Tech's Jorge Alfonzo, while Rauch squares off against Belmont's Hendrik Inno.

Next up with be Chris Patzanovsky, who will face Butler's Lope Adelakun at 11:30 a.m. Matt Story and Turner Voges will play in the afternoon session. Story has a 1 p.m. match on the schedule against Ball State's Nemanja Guzina, while Voges is the lone Tiger who drew a seeded opponent in the first round, facing Vanderbilt's Billy Rowe at 2 p.m.
