Arthur Maulet Accepts Invite to NFLPA Collegiate Bowl

Senior DB to participate in event in California later this month.
MEMPHIS – Senior defensive back Arthur Maulet has accepted an invitation to participate in the 2017 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl in California, Saturday, Jan. 21st. This is the fourth straight season the Tigers have had a graduating senior offered a playing opportunity in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl. In 2013, Lonnie Ballentine, Johnnie Farms and Tom Hornsey were invited to the event. In 2014, offensive tackle Al Bond was invited, and last year, offensive lineman Ryan Mack participated in the event on the campus of California State University Dominguez Hills. The Jan. 21st game will be broadcast by Fox Sports on FS1 at 3 p.m. (CT).
After playing two seasons at Copiah-Lincoln Community College, Maulet appeared in 26 games at Memphis, finishing with 111 total tackles, including 7.5 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and 4.5 sacks, including a career-high three sacks in Memphis' final game against Western Kentucky in the Boca Raton Bowl.
Maulet was named the 2016 DeAngelo Williams Most Valuable Player at the Tigers' annual banquet.
Maulet is one of two Tigers' seniors participating in a senior-level game at the end of the collegiate football campaign. Teammate Jake Elliott will participate in the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., Jan. 28th at 1:30 p.m. (CT).
