MEMPHIS – Former defensive back Arthur Maulet will play in one final college event on Saturday, suiting up for the American team in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl. That game will air on FoxSports1 beginning at 3:15 p.m. (CT).
Maulet recently wrapped up a two-year Memphis career that saw him appear in all 26 games, helping Memphis to back-to-back bowl appearances and a 17-9 record in two seasons.
As part of the Tigers' secondary, Maulet recorded 111 total tackles, including 92 solos, adding 7.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, 24 pass breakups, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one interception.
Last season, Maulet led the team with 13 pass breakups and his 72 total tackles ranked fifth on the team. He also helped Memphis execute a fake punt, catching a pass from Tiger punter Spencer Smith to convert a first down in the third quarter of the game at Ole Miss.
Maulet is one of two Tigers participating in post-college career bowl games this year. Place-kicker Jake Elliott leaves Tuesday to prepare for the 2017 Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala. That game will be played on Saturday, Jan. 28 at 1:30 p.m. (CT) and will air on the NFL Network.
