Women's Golf Opening Season Monday

Lady Tigers to play two rounds Monday at Cherokee Country Club in Knoxville
MEMPHIS – The University of Memphis women's golf team crossed the state on Saturday and will open its 2016-17 season at the University of Tennessee's Mercedes-Benz Collegiate at Cherokee Country Club in Knoxville, Monday.
The field will include three programs that finished last year as a top 25 ranked team – Florida (7), Kent State (15) and host Tennessee (23). North Carolina (30), BYU (31), Wake Forest (35), SMU (44) and Middle Tennessee (50) all finished in the top 50 last season and will be in the field with Memphis this week.
Tee times Monday start at 8:30 a.m. The Tigers will be teamed with players from Virginia Tech and Chattanooga. Sophomore Sydney Colwill will go off of 14, while teammate Emily Goldenstein starts off 15. Sophomore Michaela Fletcher returns to the lineup this season after missing last year due to injury, and will compete in her first collegiate action since winning her way to the NCAA Championships in her freshman season off of hole 16. Senior Leighann Cabush will also start her day off 16, while Madison Thomas begins her sophomore season off of 17.
All of the teams will compete in two rounds on Monday, with Tuesday's final round set to tee off at 9 a.m.
