Women’s Golf Teeing Up for Final Regular Season Tourney Friday

Seven Tigers competing in final regular season event.
MEMPHIS – The University of Memphis women's golf team will tee it up for one more regular season tournament, starting Friday, at the 2016 Rebel Intercollegiate in Oxford, Miss. Due to expected rain and storms overnight, Friday morning tee times have been pushed back to 9:51 a.m. Memphis is sending a team entry and two individual competitors to the three day event before the American Athletic Conference tournament.
Leighann Cabush, Sydney Colwill, Emily Goldenstein, Madison Thomas and Julia Gerlach will make up Memphis' team entry, while Andrea Cropper and Megan Beane will each compete in the field as individuals. The field will played 18 holes Friday, 18 on Saturday and 18 on Sunday.
Memphis is one of 15 teams participating in the annual event. The Tigers will be joined by East Tennessee State, Fresno State, Harvard, James Madison, Murray State, host Ole Miss, Redlands, Samford, Southern Miss, Troy, Tulsa, Western Carolina, Western Kentucky and Yale. For the opening round, played Friday, Memphis will be teamed with players from East Tennessee State and Troy in the team competition.
The Ole Miss event is the last tournament of the regular season for Memphis. Memphis competes in the American Conference tournament Apr. 17-19th in Palm Coast, Florida.
