Women’s Golf Finishes Fifth at Pat Bradley Invitational

Fletcher and Goldenstein grab top 20 finishes.

MEMPHIS – The University of Memphis women's golf team finished fifth in the 39^th Annual Pat Bradley Invitational, hosted by FIU at Lakewood Ranch Country Club in Lakewood Ranch, Fla., Tuesday. Memphis started the day fifth, but could not move up, firing a 298 to finish with an 887 (+23). Host FIU won the event with an 872 (+8).

Michaela Fletcher and Emily Goldenstein each added top 20 finishes in the event. Fletcher finished tied for 13^th at 219 after a third round 73 put her at +3 for the event. Goldenstein finished in a tie for 20^th with a 221, carding a 76 on Tuesday to finish +5.

Sydney Colwill just missed the top 20, scoring a 73, her best round of the tournament, on Tuesday. She finished tied for 22^nd at 222, just a stroke behind Goldenstein inside the top 20.

Leighann Cabush shaved a stroke off her Monday score, firing a 76 on Tuesday to finish with a 225 (+9), good for a tie for 28^th.

Abby Herrmann, competing on the team entry for the first time this season, matched her 78 from Monday and finished with a 233 (+17), good for a tie for 51^st overall.

Florida captured the top two individual spots in the event. Samantha Wagner fired the low round of the tournament on Tuesday, shooting a 64 (-8) to finish at 202 (-14) for individual medalist honors.

Teammate Kelly Grassel shot a 73 after Monday's 65 to finish six stroke back at 208 (-8) to finish as the runner up. FIU's Camila Serrano broke in to the Gator stronghold atop the standings to finish with a 209 (-7). Serrano had just finished as the runner up at the Memphis Intercollegiate a week ago and posted her second top five finish in nine days.

Memphis will wrap up its fall season in Texas, competing in the 2016 Trinity Forest Invitational, hosted by SMU, at the Trinity Forest Golf Club, Nov. 7-8.
